Deep Cove Shaw Theatre – The Home of First Impressions Theatre

The Deep Cove Shaw Theatre is a 130-seat venue located inside the Deep Cove Cultural Centre at 4360 Gallant Avenue in North Vancouver. While intimate in size, it offers an exceptional viewing experience where every seat feels close to the stage. This unique setting allows audiences to fully immerse themselves in each performance.

In addition to being the home of First Impressions Theatre,  the building is a hub for the arts. It houses both the Seymour Art Gallery and the Deep Cove Heritage Society. Deep Cove Stage Theatre also hosts plays there.

A Tradition of Quality Productions

Over the years, First Impressions Theatre has brought a diverse range of productions to the stage, from comedies and dramas to thought-provoking contemporary works. Many shows are crafted by and feature local artists, creating a strong connection between the performers and the community.

Unlike larger venues such as Vancouver’s Queen Elizabeth Theatre, the Shaw Theatre offers a casual, welcoming environment without sacrificing production quality. This makes it an ideal spot for theatre lovers seeking a more personal and interactive experience.

Community Involvement

First Impressions Theatre is more than just a performance company, it’s a place where the community comes together. Volunteers play a big role, helping with everything from building sets and designing costumes to ushering and managing front-of-house operations. This spirit of collaboration ensures that every production reflects the heart of the Deep Cove community.
