Gateway Theatre in Richmond

About Gateway Theatre
Owned by the City of Richmond and operated by a non-profit society, Gateway Theatre features a 522-seat main theatre. It also has an 89-seat studio. The venue hosts both in-house productions and performances by visiting companies. It’s also available for rentals. The main stage offers both orchestra and balcony seating, creating an intimate yet professional theatre experience.
In addition to musicals, like Annie in 2025, the theatre regularly presents plays, community performances, and cultural events, including storytelling workshops, holiday celebrations, and music showcases. Past highlights have included productions for the Mid-Autumn Festival, Lunar New Year, and Richmond Pride Week.
